How to play Craps
To start a round you need to place a bet on one of the two opening bets, called the Pass Line and Don’t Pass bets, or lay straight bets on specific numbers, combination bets, or bet on a number for the very next roll.
Pass Line and Don’t Pass Bets
Place your bet on the Pass Line bar or the Don’t Pass bar. The PASS LINE bet is betting that you will roll the Point you set in the come out roll again before rolling 7. The DON’T PASS Bet is betting that you roll 7 before repeating the Point.
After betting every round starts with the ‘come out roll’ – the first toss of the dice. The result of this roll can be one of three:
- Instant win of 1:1 if you rolled a 7 or 11 on a Pass Line bet. (Don’t Pass bets lose in this case) Then a new round starts.
- Losing the bet and starting a new round if you roll 2, 3 or 12 on a Pass Line bet. (Don’t Pass bets win 1:1 in this case)
- Any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10) becomes the Point.
After the Point is set you continue to roll and the round goes on until hitting a 7 or the Point. If the Point is made before a 7, your Pass Line bet wins and Don’t Pass bet loses, and vice versa.
Taking Odds and Laying Odds
When betting on the Pass Line you can raise your bet by clicking the Odds sign on the table’s left. This bet pays true odds: The odds line bet will pays out at 6:5 if the point is six or eight, pays 3:2 if the point is five or nine, and pays 2:1 if the point is four or ten.
Odds options:
1X - odds bet equal to your pass line bet
2X - odds bet of double your pass line bet
Full Double Odds - 2.5 times odds on six or eight and double on all other numbers
3X - odds wager of triple your pass line bet
When you are raising a Don't Pass bet, it’s called Laying Odds and you are wagering on a 7 being rolled before the point. The Laying Odds bet payout is as follows - if the point is:
4 or 10, payout is 1-2
5 or 9, payout is 2-3
6 or 8, payout is 5-6
The odds multiplier is in effect to set the limits of the amount of odds the player can lay.
Come Bet and Don’t Come Bet
These bets are placed after the come out roll, in the middle of a round. After placing a COME or DON’T COME bet there are 3 options:
- You win (1:1) the Come bet/ Lose the Don’t Come if you roll 7 or 11.
- You lose the Come bet/ Win (1:1) the Don’t Come if you roll 2, 3 or 12.
- Any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10) becomes the Come Point.
In a Come Bet you win if you repeat the Come Point before rolling a 7. And in the Don’t Come bet you win if you roll a 7 before repeating the Come Point. You can lay or take odds on these bets.
If you made the Point (for the pass line, not the Come Point) and there are still active come bets then the come out roll is still active to the come wagers but does not apply to the respective odds wagers. If the come wager is resolved on a come out roll, then the odds wagers are returned.
